D&C 24:12."And at all times, and in all places, he shall open his mouth and declare my gospel as with the voice of a trump, both day and night. And I will give unto him strength such as is not known among men."
This scripture has been part of my goal during my first week at the MTC, to be guided as to how I can gain a strength that is not known among men and declare his gospel both night and day!I can't believe a week has already gone by, it's been an eventful week! First of all my companions name is Sister Broadhead and she is also from Lehi! We get along really well and we've been able to talk about a lot! I already love her! She's very enthusiastic, complimentary and centered in Christ. The other sisters in my district are incredible, actually everyone in my district is incredible Haha. Everyone is hilarious and we all get along so well! The Elders in our district are so so funny and make us all cry laughing. I didn't realize how close you can get to a group of people so fast.Sister Broadhead and I were called to be Sister Training Leaders after 4 days of being here. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it if you don't know what that means but basically we are the zone leaders for the sisters of our branch. We minister to all of our sisters and report to the Branch President if anyone is struggling or needs anything. It's also our job to welcome new missionaries and give tours. There are many sisters in our branch who have been here much longer than us so we were a little surprised but both of us talked about how we had a feeling about it! There are about 6 districts in our branch Some revelation I received about this new calling was that we were not called because we were more qualified but because the Lord saw fit to give us a chance to grow. I'm very humbled to have this opportunity.A funny story that happened this week was there are 4 of us sisters in our room and one of the sisters names is Sister Goodman. One night at like 2 in the morning I wake up to her sitting straight up in bed and yelling "BROTHERS AND SISTERS". So it's like 2 in the morning, I'm dead tired but I'm dying laughing because she just laid right back down and was still asleep Haha.I love it here honestly, I love having the constant companion of the Spirit. I can't tell you how many times it has been confirmed to me why I am here, why this was the right time for me. This is not MY mission, it is the Lords and I am just a small yet significant part of it. The Lord needs each of us to turn outwards and invite others to come closer to Him. Something I was thinking about this week was a runners high. I've experienced that several times but I thought about it in terms of the gospel this week. For runners once you push past a certain point you get more endorphins than you did your entire run and have a burst of energy. In the gospel I know that if we will push a little farther and out of our comfort zones, the Lord will magnify that effort and make it great.Just to let you all know, I can read your emails all during the week at anytime, I just can't respond until my P Day (tuesdays) so if you want to email me during the week I would love it, it's very encouraging!I love all of you!
